Dates and Prices

Sunday 23rd April 10-4pm - Wild Garlic Day

Our events are held at Daylands Farm; they run from 10am until 4pm and involve woodland and farm walks on which we identify and discuss wild plants and then learn how to prepare recipes from foraged foods and seasonal farm produce. Price also includes refreshments, tea, coffee, cordials, snacks and a 2-course lunch - all homemade. In addition, everyone gets to take home a jar or bottle of whatever you have made.
Cost: The days are £45 per person (under 14s half price and must be accompanied by a responsible adult).

This year we’re going to run things a little differently, be a bit more flexible and schedule the timetable and content around what you want to do.

We’ll let you know what’s around at what time of year and you can either: pick what takes your fancy and arrange a date with us; or you can wait for someone else to do the picking and then sign up to that date. We’ll be updating here and on Facebook what’s in season and you can contact us to arrange a date and book. Once we have a date in the diary we will advertise it by Facebook and email to get others to join in.

When some things are in season:
Spring/Early Summer:
Ramsons (Wild Garlic), nettles, dandelions, loads of wild herbs and wild salad leaves, chickweed, plantain, hogweed, wild blossom
Early Summer: Elderflower, wild blossom, Rhubarb, dandelion, herbs and vegetables
Summer: some wild salad leaves, domestic plums, loads of vegetables, currants, berries, pig nut
Late Summer: wild and domestic plums, blackberries, elderberries
Autumn: hawthorn, sloe, rosehip, blackberry, wild plum, puff balls, nuts
This is just to give you an idea … there are loads more and many overlap the seasons!

What to do next:
1. Decide you want to come to relax, enjoy and learn;
2. Contact us to discuss your preferences and possible dates;
3. Pay up and prepare to be indulged at the hands of Carol and Louise
